Integration Toolkit Training (TR-ITK)

This is a 3 day instructor-led course designed to provide the student with a strong understanding of how to access and apply information from ActivEssentials for use in enterprise reporting or data exchange with other Line of Business systems.

The Activplant Integration Toolkit (ITK) is a set of tools and processes that enables 3rd party applications to access information from the ActivEssentials platform without a need to interface directly with the complex data model. The ITK is primarily designed to enable IT Professionals and Business Intelligence Developers to build customized reports or pass information to other Line of Business systems. This 3 day course will approach these two avenues with a focus on SQL Reporting Services and SQL Integration Services, respectively.

The enduring business benefit of the ITK is a structure that is flexible enough to meet the dynamic needs of customers and ensuring continued compatibility with future ActivEssentials versions.

Who Should Attend
Report Developers (IT Professionals) and/or Software Developers (Business Intelligence Developers) interested in building customized reports or passing information to other line of business systems.

Course Objective
With emphasis on querying Activplant information using the ITK, the goal of this course is to provide the student with a strong understanding of how to access and apply information from ActivEssentials for use in enterprise reporting or data exchange with other Line of Business systems.

Upon completion of the course the student should have an understanding of the following:

• ITK Overview with Installation and Setup
• Component Review
• Query Service and Query Builder
• Use of Data in Reports
• Integration into the Activplant Reporting System
• Advanced Queries
• .net Data Providers
• SQL Integration Services Objects and Deployment

Prerequisites
Concepts covered during the ITK course assume an advanced knowledge of Activplant’s core functionality and good understanding of SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or Integration Services (SSIS) along with software programming experience (Visual Studio) and current Business Intelligence practices. The ITK course does not provide SSRS or SSIS training and it is expected that the student has strong skills in the above mentioned areas. Also, previous attendance to one of the following Activplant courses is required before attending the ITK course:

• Level 1 - Activplant Fundamentals
• Level 2 - Activplant Advanced

Purchase of the ITK is also required prior to attending this course.
