Insight for Excel (TR-IE)

This is a half day instructor-led course designed to provide the skills necessary to install, configure and administer Activplant’s Insight for Excel.

Who Should Attend
People who will be responsible for generating ad-hoc reports or who are interested in creating customized reporting functionality within Excel.

Course Objective
Activplant’s Insight for Excel is designed to provide greatly expanded reporting capabilities which allow direct access to Activplant data using customized Activplant functions. By using Insight for Excel a company can create reports by selecting diverse data categories, multiple servers and detailed data parameters. This flexible data access unleashes the power of the UFDM (Universal Factory Data Model) through the familiar package of Excel.

Upon completion of the course the student should have an understanding of the following:

• Administrator tasks
  • Installing and set-up
  • Disabling and enabling Activplant's Insight for Excel
  • Connecting to the Activplant Server
• Using Activplant’s Insight for Excel
  • Add-in features
  • Using the function editor
  • Functions and reports
  • Refreshing data
• Using common Excel features to help enrich the reporting capabilities
  • Pivot tables
  • VLookup
  • Selection lists

Prerequisites
Participants should have an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, including macros, functions, user defined functions, pivot tables and charting capabilities. Familiarity with ActivEssentials 5.0 and its data collection fundamentals is also required.

Times
Classes start at 9:00am and conclude at no later than 1:00pm, lunch is provided.
