CME Smart Program and Activplant

London, On, February 17th, 2009– Activplant Corporation - the leading provider of Business Intelligence for Manufacturers, announced today that they will be offering their software solutions to facilitate productivity improvement projects with Ontario based manufacturers as part of the CME SMART Program. The Government of Ontario and the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) have jointly launched the SMART Program to assist Ontario based manufacturers improve their productivity and compete more effectively in the global economy.

The SMART Program is structured to provide financial assistance to productivity improvement projects that a manufacturer may initiate, including: lean manufacturing, quality improvement and IT best practices. In support of this program, Activplant has bundled a solution that comprises its software, implementation and consulting services. This bundle addresses common manufacturing issues such as: constraint identification, real-time production notification, downtime analysis and predictive quality reporting. The company believes that its bundled solution meets the definition of a Qualified Productivity Improvement Project and therefore may qualify for funding of up to $50,000 under the CME SMART Program. The benefit to manufacturers is that the program significantly defrays the cost of implementing a system that improves productivity both today and indefinitely into the future.
