Drew Forret

Drew Forret

President

Drew has been a member of the senior management team, with steadily increasing responsibilities, since joining the company in 2000. He assumed the role of President of Activplant in October 2008, after having served as the Vice President of Finance and Business Operations. As the President, Drew is responsible for the overall operations of the company.

Prior to his employment at Activplant, Drew worked with London Life, a division of Great West Life, in their Compliance and Risk Management department. While at London Life, Drew was responsible for reporting to Senior Management on business processes and improvement opportunities. Before London Life, Drew worked with KPMG in both their Assurance and Risk Management groups, where he provided advisory services to clients in a number of industries including: automotive, telecommunications, building materials, health sciences, and general manufacturing. It was during his tenure at KPMG that Drew also earned his Chartered Accountant designation. Drew is a graduate of the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of British Columbia.


Terry Frey

Terry Frey

Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Terry assumed the role of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Activplant Corporation in October 2008. By leveraging his vast experience from a number of senior sales and marketing roles, Terry is now responsible for driving global growth through the management of Activplant’s global sales team, partner development processes, go to market strategies, and marketing operations.

Prior to Activplant, Terry was the Vice President of Sales at Descartes Systems Group, a leading global provider of supply chain and logistics solutions to Fortune 500 Companies. While at Descartes Systems Group, he was responsible for the sales of software license and services. Terry has spent over 15 years in the software space holding various Sales and Marketing leadership roles with EDS Corporation, Netscape Communications, Oracle Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Terry holds an Honours degree in Business from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.


Eric Goodwin

Eric Goodwin

Executive Director

Eric has been part of the Activplant Board since 2002, and currently fulfills the role of Executive Director by working closely with and advising the Activplant senior management team. Eric brings a wealth of knowledge to the leadership team through his extensive experience of the software industry. Most recently, Eric was the Chairman of Fortiva Inc, a leader in the space of email archive solutions for regulatory compliance. While in the Chairman role he oversaw and fostered the successful growth of Fortiva, which culminated in the sale of that business to Proofpoint Inc.

Prior to his tenure at Fortiva, Eric was the CEO of Klocwork, where he took an early stage company to the next level with a venture-funding round that initiated two years of rapid growth. In his career, Eric has held several other senior level positions with technology companies including being the CEO of FloNetwork, and the CEO and Founder of Fulcrum Technologies when the company grew to over $60 million in revenue. Eric was named one of Canada's Top 10 Technology CEOs by Canadian Business Magazine, and received the Canadian Advanced Technology Association's award for Private Sector Leadership.


Mathew Rynard

Chief Technology Officer

Mathew now serves as the Chief Technology Officer at the company, after a successful 5-year term as Vice President, Research and Development. Prior to joining Activplant, he was the Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Avotus Corporation, a global provider of enterprise communications-management software. While at Avotus Corporation, Mathew served as a member of the executive management team and ran the software development organizations in Mississauga, Ontario and Summit, New Jersey. Responsibilities included the development and support of multiple product lines, including SMB packaged software and high-end, enterprise solutions.

Prior to his role at Avotus Corporation, Mathew was with MDR Technologies where he held a number of positions including VP of Technology, Director of Engineering, and Chief Software Architect. Mathew has worked with many large technology organizations on co-development and consulting engagements, and brings a background in applying software development processes to high-energy environments. He started his career in control systems design with Bailey Controls after graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering from McMaster University.


Samir Sehovic

Samir Sehovic

Vice President, Product Development

Samir joined Activplant in 1998, where he has played a key role in the development of all versions of the Activplant/ActivEssentials software. During his time at the company, he has served as a Senior Software Engineer and then Manager, and then sequentially as Vice President of Research and Development, Vice President, Technical Architecture, and now as Vice President of Product Development.

Prior to joining Activplant, Samir was a Software Engineer with London Health Science Centre and Hypernet Technologies. At Activplant, Samir serves as the lead subject matter expert for the ActivEssentials technical and data architecture. His responsibilities include oversight of the technical aspects of product direction, technology adoption, system analysis, design, and software engineering. Samir also manages the evaluation of third party products and technologies that could assist Activplant in providing better solutions for our customers. Samir holds a Bachelor of Traffic Engineering degree, a Programmer Analyst diploma and is Project Management certified.
