Global Account Manager

Department: Sales
Location: ON Canada, Michigan
Reports To: VP, Sales

The Global Account Manager is responsible for delivering on sales quotas in named accounts and new logo companies within a defined geographic area and manufacturing industry vertical.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets – through direct customer contact increase Activplant sales by qualifying prospects and moving them through the Activplant sales process
  • Create and execute Account Plans for each customer – build an account map, identify projects and programs, objectives, strategies, program launches, specific actions, develop R.O.I. case studies, establish better reference-ability and analyze current revenue opportunities
  • Accurately forecast opportunities and report at regular intervals to the VP, Sales
  • Track all opportunities accurately in Salesforce.com
  • Work cooperatively with the Activplant Marketing & Sales Engineers during the sales cycle
  • Develop new business based on leads generated through the Inside Sales department as well as through personal initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years technical software sales experience with manufacturing client focus
  • Enterprise sales with experience in managing opportunities using a formal sales process and solution selling approach
  • Focus and experienced selling at the C-level
  • Proven track record of delivering on sales quota
  • Prefer minimum 2 years selling Plant Floor Manufacturing and Plant Floor Automation Systems
  • Skills in the following technical areas a strong asset - XML technologies, HTML Technologies, Database software, CRM systems, PLC knowledge, Microsoft.Net architecture, Relational databases, and Web architectures, knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong business acumen, ability to drive sales process and commitment to relationship building with the customer
  • Travel is required for customer visits, sales calls trade shows, distributor events, seminars

Education

  • University degree required (related degree – Marketing/Business)

Travel

  • This position will require frequent travel (60-70%) to customer locations
