VPWeb
VPWeb is a module within the Insight component of ActivEssentials®. This web-based client-side data viewing module allows you to interact with ActivEssentials and ActivApplications. It presents data – either from the Activplant database or real-time data from the OPC server – in Internet Explorer, using several different views.
Using VPWeb, you can view many different kinds of manufacturing data, print charts and reports, and export data to other programs. Consisting of several views, VPWeb allows multiple presentations of data from the ActivEssentials Core Foundation. This data is related to a plant hierarchy, which is a tree-like structure that emulates the logical structure of departments, groups and assets in your plant.
By selecting various plant hierarchy items, the focus of the views changes to reflect the new selection, with different screens for the various levels in the hierarchy. Defining a span of time within the different views reveals additional details for the selected data.
Features of VPWeb
- Versatility
- Production data such as production counts, scrap part counts, etc.
- Incident data such as fault and alarm codes and their durations
- Process variables such as machine temperatures, pressures, or torque
- Reporting functions for creating, saving and exporting reports
- Easy access
- Because VPWeb is deployed using Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6.0 and later), you can access VPWeb from any networked client computer in your facility without having to load extra software. Web browser deployment also means that you can view data from across the world via the Internet.
- Summarized data
- You can view data from levels of plant organization higher than the alphanumeric (data collection point) level. For example, you can view data from a production line or a department, or compare data from different production lines or different plants.
- Filtered data
- You can filter the data that is displayed in order to concentrate on the data that you really want to see.
- View data by identifier
- You can view data in terms of identifiers such as part numbers or batch numbers. In this way you can relate the data you see to what the plant has been producing.
- Process variables
- In the Trends view of VPWeb you can trend process variables as historical or real-time data; or you can trend other kinds of data, such as production counts or machine cycle times, over a predefined time period.
- Export to Excel® and other formats
- You can export data to Microsoft® Excel®, XML, or HTML directly from VPWeb.
- Flexible reporting
- You can generate many different kinds of reports from VPWeb data, then print or save the reports. You can also schedule reports so that they are generated automatically.
