The Activplant Real-Time Logic Engine (RTLE) is a bi-directional, high availability service that provides client and server communications to process control equipment. It is an OPC gateway or bridge, allowing you to gather data items from many different OPC servers and present it as one OPC server.
By integrating and aggregating information from multiple sources, the Real-Time Logic Engine has powerful transformation capabilities to create logic that cannot be handled in the PLC. This full VB script support enables complex data manipulation and custom timing, running against real time items from the PLC. Improving the time to results, logic can be embedded at the level of the Real-Time Logic Engine rather than in individual PLCs resulting in time savings.
