Root Cause Assignment
The Activplant Root Cause Assignment module is a powerful, cost effective and enterprise-ready solution for allocating root causes to downtime incidents. It enables the configuration, assignment and editing of structured and unstructured root cause information for downtime incidents. It also delivers viewing and analysis of incidents and root cause information in conjunction with Activplant.
Root cause assignment is critical for effective downtime tracking and analysis. The Root Cause Assignment module allows you to collect both structured and unstructured manual data on the causes of machine incidents, edit that information, report on it and analyze it. This data provides the manufacturing intelligence needed to identify and fix root causes, thus reducing unscheduled downtime.
In the above example, an operator has selected a third level reason code. Each level shows only the applicable reason code depending on what was selected at the previous level.
Administrators use the point and click interface to configure the Root Cause Assignment module including defining user privileges, the reason codes and structure for root causes, what additional information the operators can enter, and what additional information is provided to the operator based on the reason code. Operators use the Root Cause Assignment module to assign root causes to incidents. Supervisors can edit, add and delete incident and root cause information. Managers can view and generate reports on incidents and their root causes. In addition, the detailed root cause information can be further analyzed in the Activplant Use Detail View.
