Recently released ActivEssentials 5 signifies Activplant’s commitment to delivering a performance management platform with the openness and interoperability to drive value to customers. Built on the Microsoft® .NET framework, ActivEssentials 5 Services-Oriented Architecture (SOA) model leverages powerful web services.
Working in conjunction with one another, the five ActivEssentials provide contextualized transparency to the manufacturing process. Made up of The Core Foundation, Insight, Gateway, Collect and Operations, the ActivEssentials are the backbone of the Activplant Performance Management System.
The Core Foundation
A robust technology core is critical for delivering information from the plant floor in a clear and concise fashion. The ActivEssentials Core Foundation includes the patented Universal Factory Data Model (UFDM) as well as a rich set of Administrative Tools that aid the rapid configuration and deployment of the APMS.
Insight
Insight is a real-time set of web services, reports and queries developed to provide access to the enriched data in the UFDM. Insight provides real-time transformation of plant floor statistics into usable information, plus the vital capability to create reports, inquiries and views in an ad-hoc fashion. Reports, views and queries generated from Insight are shareable and retrievable to allow successful collaboration. Insight enables information transparency by maintaining the contextualized relationships between your data, sending it to the appropriate reporting mechanism, and then displaying the information. The Insight ActivEssentials component includes Insight for Excel and VPWeb
Gateway
The Gateway component of ActivEssentials facilitates data exchange between your existing business systems and APMS. It provides real-time web services that import and export data contained in the UFDM, bringing information transparency through standard integration adapters for products such as SAP to data exchange wizards capable of accessing, filtering, grouping and triggering on any data item or event inside the UFDM. Whether yours is a commercial ERP or legacy system, or whether you require production scheduling, plant maintenance or inventory management, Gateway exposes UFDM data for export to any system that needs it. The ActivEssentials Gateway includes Gateway for SAP and Enterprise Gateway.
Collect
The ActivEssentials also include Collect, which is comprised of multiple collection, contextualization and logic engines to transform raw data into contextualized intelligence. These engines provide critical transparency to shop floor information and are designed to collect data from the automation layer, plant floor devices and other electronic sources received from external systems. The Collect ActivEssentials component includes Data Collector and the Real-Time Logic Engine.
Operations
The Operations component of ActivEssentials includes execution modules that allow your team to make APMS conform to the realities of your specific operation. The ActivEssentials Operations includes Root Cause Assignment.
