Coca-Cola Amatil

Challenge:

Coca-Cola Amatil is the largest bottler in the southern hemisphere. They are at a 35 year old site and for many years they were trying to manually process data – making it impossible to track 2000 cans a minute. Coca-Cola Amatil was looking for a tracking system that would provide them with real time data to monitor inefficiencies on the plant floor.

Solution:

Coca-Cola Amatil rolled out an Activplant software solution that would track, monitor and report uptime/downtime, schedule and do Inventory Record Accuracy. The key to this solution was that Coca-Cola Amatil employees were able to see the reports in real time and understand where any constraints may be in their facility.

Results:

Management at Coca-Cola Amatil was unaware what their savings would be on this project; they guessed 5%, feeling that this would be a great improvement. It has been a lot more then that: Coca-Cola Amatil has had a lift of 15% inefficiencies on certain lines. Their facility is 35 years old and they are now able to make out of sight improvements.
