Topic: How Change in China is Changing the World
Author: China Inc: How the Rise of the Next Superpower Challenges America and the World
The most important change in the business world today is unquestionably the rapid emergence of China as a world power-and as its economy changes, it forces the world to change along with it. Ted Fishman's best-selling China, Inc.: How the Rise of the Next Superpower Challenges America and the World is a momentous book that chronicles the rise of China and its impact on the lives of Americans as consumers, workers, managers and citizens. The book, which Inc. Magazine says "should be required reading for every U.S. entrepreneur," has been translated and published in Japan, China, France, Taiwan, Korea, Spain, and Turkey.
As evidenced by his writings on China, Fishman's interest lays in how big economic trends bare on people's everyday experience. His essays and reports appear in The New York Times Magazine, Money, Harper's, Business2.0, Esquire, USA Today, GQ, and The Times of London. He has been a guest commentator on CNN, the BBC, CNBC, and PBS among many others. Fishman also consults to local, state and federal leaders concerned about how to navigate China's economic rise. After graduating from Princeton, Fishman became a floor trader and member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, running his own trading firm until 1992.
